This page contains information about what to do if your child or another member of your family is a victim of hate incident.

If you or a member of your family have been a victim of a hate incident or you have witnessed someone being victimised or targeted due to their identity you can report it to ARCH.

It is important if a child or young person is being bullied that those closest to them are able to help and support. This site aims to enable parents in Sunderland who have concerns about a child or young person who is being bullied or has been accused of bullying others in or outside of school to gain access to information, resources and advice to support them.

  • Parents Enquiry North East is a voluntary organisation offering support to parents of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered sons and daughters in North East England. Confidential helplines are operated by parents. They are not counsellors but have been through the experience of learning to understand and support their own gay children.


  • Where do the Mermaids stand? is the poetry, prose, artwork and personal stories by children, young people and their parents.The aim of this publication is to provide a platform for creative expression by children, young people and parents living with or affected by gender identity issues and to raise awareness of the thoughts, feelings and perspectives that individuals and families who are living with gender identity issues have and take ownership of.
